Bystander Injured After Pursuit Ends In Crash Near Watts

WATTS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two suspects were taken into custody following a pursuit that ended in a crash near the Watts-area of Los Angeles. One bystander was injured.

The accident happened at the intersection of Manchester Avenue and San Pedro Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Although it was unclear why authorities were pursuing the suspect vehicle, the subjects were allegedly armed, according to Sky9's Stu Mundel, who was over-the-scene in the 2 o'clock hour.

Mundel said both were taken into custody.

One person inside the bystander vehicle, which was struck, was being treated at the scene by first responders. That individual possibly sustained a broken leg, Mundel reported.

Meanwhile, Manchester Avenue at San Pedro Street was expected to remain shut for some time while authorities investigate.

No further information was immediately provided.
