City On Tactical Alert After Suspects Reportedly Fire On Police With Rifle

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   —  A citywide tactical alert has been called following the report of two suspects firing on LAPD with a rifle near 62nd Street and Hoover.

Every available officer has been sent to the vicinity.

One suspect is reportedly in custody.

The search for a second suspect is underway with police setting up a wide perimeter from Gage Avenue to 61st and between Hoover and Vermont Avenue.

Authorities said two officers were rolling down the street when they observed the muzzle of a rifle firing in their direction.

It was unclear if police also recovered the weapon or if more than one weapon was used in the alleged attack.

No officers were injured.
