City Commission Approves $4.3M For Downtown LA Park

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Commission approved $4.3 million for a downtown park.

The funds for the space, which will be located at First Street and Broadway, will go toward demolishing, grading, designing and constructing the park, City Councilman Jose Huizar said, adding that residents will be involved in the process.

Huizar said the distribution of the money showcases "a significant step forward in bringing more park land to the downtown Los Angeles community, which desperately needs more green space."

The park has received $14.27 million in public funding overall, according to the city.
