CHP Pursuit Of Pickup Ends Near Acton
NEWHALL (CBSLA.com) — CHP was in pursuit of a white pickup headed south from Lancaster on Tuesday.
The suspect was traveling south along the I-14 from the Mojave area, through Acton and Agua Dulce, in the direction of Santa Clarita.
It was no immediately clear what the suspect was initially wanted for.
The truck was visibly driving in an erratic manner, swerving on and off of the freeway.
Shortly after 6:43 p.m., CHP performed a pursuit-intervention maneuver, at which point the vehicle spun out and idled.
The suspect then jumped out of the truck and ran across the lanes of the freeway, hopped the divider, crossed the oncoming lanes of the I-14 northbound, and attempted to run into a ditch.
The suspect tripped, fell into the ditch and was subsequently tackled by officers and taken into custody.
