At Least 1 Killed In Santa Clarita Crash On NB 14 Freeway That Temporarily Blocked Lanes

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) -- At least one person was killed on Sunday night in a crash on the northbound 14 Freeway at Newhall Avenue in Santa Clarita, officials said.

The crash happened at about 6:35 p.m. and California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 6:49 p.m. to temporarily block the 2,3, 4 and 5 lanes.

Lanes were blocked for several hours.

It's unclear what led up to the crash, but initial reports from CHP indicate that a child was involved.

The CHP later clarified that an adult female died in the crash, and there were also other injuries.
