CHP Chases 4-Door Ford Vehicle On 405 Freeway

LONG BEACH (CBSLA) — The California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a four-door Ford vehicle Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:40 p.m., the female driver was taken into custody. According to police, a dog in the vehicle was taken to animal control unharmed.

The pursuit began with California State University Long Beach police around 10:30 p.m. Police tried to stop the vehicle for driving without its lights on.

CHP was able to stop the pursuit on the northbound 5, however the driver was initially noncompliant and would not exit the vehicle.

The vehicle was traveling upwards of 70 miles per hour going northbound on the 405 Freeway before exiting onto the northbound 5 Freeway.

The driver was able to make his way through construction on the 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita before exiting the northbound 5 Freeway at Hasley Canyon Road. The driver then got back on the freeway.
