CHP: Fewer Drivers Arrested For DUI This Holiday Season

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — There were fewer people arrested on suspicion of drunken driving this holiday season, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP tracked DUI-related arrests from 6:01 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday and arrested 76 people in Los Angeles County during that time. During that same time last year, CHP officers arrested 86 people.

Across the state, 324 people were arrested this year on suspicion of DUI as opposed to 2012.

Five people were killed in DUI crashes this year, none of whom were in LA County.
