Female Suspect Runs Out Of Gas During Wild Chase From Riverside To O.C. To Compton

LONG BEACH  (CBSLA.com)  —  The CHP chased a woman on from Riverside to Orange County and through Compton Saturday evening.

Officials said the unidentified woman was speeding and driving recklessly.

The chase started around 8:30 p.m., in Riverside on the 91 Freeway. Police said the chase started with an attempted traffic stop.

Authorities told reporters the woman threatened to harm herself.

At least six law enforcement vehicles joined in the chase.

The pursuit took place on the 60, 57 and 110 Freeways, as well.

In Wilmington, after a about an hour, the woman appeared to come to a stop. She reportedly began running out of gas.

Initial reports said the woman may have been involved in a robbery but those were unconfirmed.

After being in her vehicle for about ten minutes, the woman complied with law enforcement, exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
