Charlie Sheen Selling His Babe Ruth World Series Ring

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Charlie Sheen says he's the owner of two major items of sports memorabilia up for auction.

One is Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring, bidding is already over $5000,000.

The other item is the contract that sent Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees in 1919. Which, if you're superstitious, was the start of the "Curse of the Bambino" that lasted 86 years for Boston. Bidding is currently at $345,000.

Sheen tells ESPN he bought the items in the early '90's, and displays them in a bar area in his house.

He said whatever the sale brings is gravy. The actor has struggled to find work recently, and faces lawsuits after revealing his HIV-positive status.
