Celebs Organize Peaceful Police Shooting Protest In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — About 150 people marched along Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on Wednesday night with voices in unison to echo the same message: peace.

Celebrities here are reacting to the deadly police shootings around the country.

Tammy and Taurean Gordon were worried about their son long before he was born.

It's why they brought 8-month-old Camden with them to the march and rally. They say they want to be part of a change, to better the future for their son.

"I think from the time we knew he was coming we've been plagued with the idea of what it would be like to raise a black man in the world as it is right now," Tammy Gordon said.

Cedric The Entertainer says he can't just stand by and watch what's happening in America in 2016.

"This is where the outrage comes. This is where the buildup comes," Cedric said. "Nobody wants a Dallas situation. Nobody wants a vigilante going out and shooting police. Nobody wants to encourage that."

Peace was the central message. CBSLA's Elsa Ramon reported that marchers even obeyed the traffic signals when crossing the Hollywood streets.
