CBS2 Auctions Off Golden Helmet To Raise Big Money For Big Brothers/Big Sisters

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — You name it, they signed it.

Huge sports superstars signed CBS2's Golden Helmet, and on Thursday evening the station found there was gold in all those autographs.

The Golden Helmet was auctioned off for Big Brothers/Big Sisters at a gourmet dinner in Newport Beach, and it fetched an impressive $15,000.

Michael Madden is now the helmet's lucky owner.

The helmet was signed by Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Jerry West, Wayne Gretzky, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Clayton Kershaw,  James Worthy, Vin Scully, Marcus Allen and Jim Brown to name just a few.

The helmet was presented to Madden by CBS2 and KCAL9 President and General Manager Steve Mauldin.
