Caught On Tape: 2 Men Rob, Beat 7-Eleven Clerk

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Tuesday to find two men who beat a convenience store clerk during a robbery.

The robbery happened at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at a 7-Eleven store, 16975 Sierra Lakes Parkway, police said.

A 24-year-old clerk was working behind the counter, when two men who entered the store to buy food. Police say after an attempt to pay, one of the men punched the clerk when he opened the register, forcing the clerk to fall back. The man jumped over the counter and began punching the clerk, as the second suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the open register and took the cash drawer, police said.

The robbers fled on foot with additional merchandise and an unknown amount of cash, police said.

Both robbers were described as black men between 20 and 25 years old. The first robber was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 140 to 160 pounds, and was last seen wearing a red and black striped shirt and dark pants. The second robber wore a light gray shirt, dark shorts and a white fisherman's hat.
