Cash, Laptops Stolen In Reseda Church Burglary

RESEDA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday were investigating a church burglary in the San Fernando Valley.

The burglary was reported around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Metro Valley Church, 18050 Vanowen Street, in Reseda, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Authorities believe at least one suspect entered the church by smashing a rock through a window on the back of the building.

The church office was ransacked, with the suspect(s) stealing  $1,300 cash, credit cards, laptops and other undisclosed items.

Church officials said the stolen money was used to help women and children in the community.

"They broke the lock box inside the church. They removed the money and they left the lock box, so there is a very good chance that we're going to get prints," Sgt. David Cueto said.

The church was not equipped with security cameras and no suspect description was released.

Anyone with information should call the LAPD.
