Car Slams Into Back Of Parked Big Rig On 91 Freeway In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — An overturned vehicle blocked three lanes of the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway in Compton early Wednesday morning.

The accident was first reported at 3:53 a.m. east of Wilmington Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said.

The driver of the car, which reportedly landed on its side, had apparently run into the back of a parked big rig on the side of the freeway.

One person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Crews worked to clear the scene before the morning commute got underway. The SigAlert cancelled at about 7:40 a.m.
