Kidnapped 1-Year-Old Girl Found Safe, Father Arrested

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — A 1-year-old girl who was kidnapped by her father was found safe Tuesday after detectives spotted them driving in Montclair.

Special enforcement detectives saw spotted a grey Chevrolet Malibu being driven by a man who matched the description of 38-year-old Daniel Segura, who allegedly abducted his daughter, Lexi, after arguing with his estranged wife, Lexi's mother.

The detectives stopped the car and took Segura into custody without incident. Authorities say a handgun was found on Segura when he was arrested.

An Amber Alert for the pair had been called off just before 6 a.m. because the car Seguara was last seen in, a 2012 red Mitsubishi Galant, was found overnight by Pomona police officers.

The family was at a friend's house in Rancho Cucamonga when they started arguing, Lexi's mother had told police. Segura pulled out a gun and took Lexi, threatening suicide by cop.

Police say Segura will be booked on suspicion of child abduction.
