Canyon Country Man, 47, Charged With Killing 74-Year-Old Father Inside Their Home

CANYON COUNTRY (CBSLA.com) —  The LA County DA's office has formerly charged a 47-year-old man with the murder of his 74-year-old father inside their Canyon Country home.

Deputy District Attorney Carmelia Mejia said Sean Matthias Miller faces one count of murder.

Miller pleaded not guilty Thursday.

He is scheduled to return to court on July 7.

The victim, Jack Miller, was found dead by sheriff deputies after they responded to calls about a family dispute on Monday, the DA said.

Bail for the defendant was set at $1 million.

Miller faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison if convicted.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
