Firefighter Injured While Battling Strip Mall Fire In Canoga Park

CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Monday extinguished a blaze that erupted in a commercial building in Canoga Park.

The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. in the 7200 block of De Soto Avenue near Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews located smoke and flames showing from the roof of the one-story building.

It took more than 100 firefighters about an hour to extinguish the flames.

One firefighter was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
