California Water Wasters Beware: #DroughtShaming On The Rise

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Are you ready to water your beautiful lush lawn?

Well, if you live in Southern California, you'd better wait until dark. Otherwise, you might run afoul of the drought shamers.

With California mired in a devastating drought, those so-called shamers are fanning out across the Los Angeles-area.

They find people needlessly putting water on lawns or letting it run onto sidewalks, then photograph them and post the results on social media like Twitter.

They use hashtags such as #DroughtShaming.

Some people say they have been wrongly shamed, and at least one shamer has had a hose turned on him.

The shamers say they just want to teach people to conserve.
