California Attorney General To Convene With Prosecutors From Mexico, El Salvador On Cross-Border Crime
SACRAMENTO (AP) — State and federal prosecutors from the U.S., Mexico and El Salvador plan to meet this weekend to discuss using technology to combat cross-border organized crime.
California Attorney General Kamala Harris announced Monday that the meeting will focus on human trafficking, money laundering and the gangs' growing sophistication in digital piracy and computer hacking.
El Salvador Attorney General Luis Martinez, Mexico Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam and Mexico state attorneys general will join attorneys general and federal officials from the U.S. in Park City, Utah, on Sunday.
The meeting is being held in advance of a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Western Attorneys General next week.
It grew out of a March trip to Mexico led by Harris. State attorneys general from Colorado, Florida, Nevada and New Mexico participated.
