Cal State San Bernardino Campus On Alert Following 2nd Attack On Female Student

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — The campus of Cal State San Bernardino is on alert Sunday following the attack of a female student.

It was the second attack in about a week.

Officials said both women were attacked after leaving the school library. Authorities are trying to determine if both incidents are related.

Authorities are telling students to take precautions while on campus and in the surrounding areas.

In the most recent attack, a student was walking from the library Sunday when she said a man grabbed her from behind and put his hand over her mouth. She said the man threatened to take her to his car.

The female student told officials she was able to elbow the suspect and break free. The female suspect who was attacked last week was also able to fend off the suspect.

If you've seen or witnessed suspicious activity, you're asked to call campus police at (909)537-5165.
