Burbank Police Arrest Former High School Employee For Alleged Sexual Misconduct With Students

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Police in Burbank have arrested a former John Burroughs High School employee suspected of having sexual relationships with two former students.

Clark Surrey, 23, worked as assistant technology director for the school's Theater Technology Group, Burbank police Sgt. Adam Cornils told City News Service.

The Glendale resident was arrested Thursday, Cornils said.

"Multiple incidents occurred off campus with two separate former female students who were between the ages of 15 and 17 when the offenses occurred," Cornils said. "It appears that Mr. Surrey may have taken photos and videos at the time of some of the incidents. Both students have since graduated and Mr. Surrey no longer works for the school district."

He says there was no indication Surrey distributed any of the alleged photos or videos.

Police reportedly launched an investigation of Surrey based on a tip he may have had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student.
