Buck With Arrow Lodged In Neck Spotted Again; Officials Unable To Capture Wounded Animal

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The same buck that was caught on video with an arrow coming out of it's neck has made another appearance.

The injured deer jumped fences to carefully avoid game wardens who were attempting to tranquilize the animal in order to get it the medical attention it needs.

"It looks like he's in pretty good shape. It looks like it's in the skin or fatty tissue, not life threatening at this point," a Department of Fish and Wildlife official said.

The wounded deer was first spotted in a Monrovia neighborhood on Monday, and has been spotted several times since.

It's not clear if the buck was shot in the neighborhood or somewhere else, which makes it difficult to know if the hunter acted lawfully.

For now, The Department of Fish and Wildlife plans to monitor the animal.

"We'll talk to our biologists and see if they want to dart him and remove the arrow," the DFW official added.
