Brush Fire Forces Temporary Closure Of 405 Freeway In Mission Hills

MISSION HILLS (CBSLA.com) — The northbound and southbound sides of the 405 Freeway in Mission Hills were closed for a period of time on Wednesday after a fire broke out near the roadway's junction with the 118 Freeway.

The blaze was reported about 3:05 p.m., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The California Highway Patrol shut down the southbound side of the roadway at the 5 Freeway and the northbound at Roscoe Boulevard, Sky9's Stu Mundel reported.

Firefighters extinguished the three-acre blaze around 5 p.m.

The northbound and southbound lanes were reopened around that same time.

No structures were damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
