Brush Fire Scorches Hacienda Heights Hillside

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — About 1½ acres of a hillside was burned in a brush fire near Rose Hills Memorial Park cemetery on Saturday evening.

The response to the 5 p.m. blaze near 3888 Workman Mill Road included three helicopters, a bulldozer, eight engines and about 70 firefighters, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department supervising dispatcher.

The fire was under control within a little more than an hour, dispatcher Bernard Peters said. There were no injuries, and the blaze did not threaten any structures.
