Brush Fire Forces Evacuation Of Campground In Victorville

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Tuesday are working to contain a brush fire that has erupted in the Mojave River Bottom.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, crews were notified shortly after 12:30 p.m. of the blaze near the 15 Freeway and Stoddard Wells.

The Shady Oasis Campground was threatened by the flames. Evacuations were subsequently ordered in the area.

Shortly before 2 p.m., officials deployed their first water drop onto the brush fire.

Officials did not clarify how large of an area the fire is burning in.

No injuries have been reported.
