Brush Fire Burns 3 Acres In Brea's Carbon Canyon Area

BREA (CBSLA.com) — A fire scorched three acres of Brea brush before crews were able to get it under control early Monday morning.

The fire was first reported at 1:45 a.m. at Olinda Drive and Carbon Canyon Road, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz said.

Helicopter water drops helped keep stop forward spread of the blaze and flames put out at 2:15 a.m. after it burned 1 ½ acres of land, Kurtz said. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
