Brush Fire Breaks Out Along I-105 Near Vermont Exit

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire has broken out alongside the eastbound I-105 freeway just before the Vermont exit.

Both Los Angeles County Fire Department and LA City Fire are hitting the fire with water-dropping helicopters in an attempt to prevent further spread.

As of 5 p.m., the fire had run from Crenshaw Blvd. to Vermont Ave.

The two right lanes of the eastbound I-105 have been closed, causing traffic to become congested in that direction all the way back to Los Angeles International Airport.
