Broken Water Main Floods Mid-City Streets

MID-CITY (CBSLA.com) — A ruptured water main flooded Mid-City streets early Saturday as crews worked to restore service for approximately 50 residents.

The break happened at a 6-inch cast iron main at 2:05 a.m., the Department of Water and Power reports.

Water gushed into the 8600 block of Guthrie Avenue, a residential area near Beverlywood. Crews reported moderate damage.

DWP shut the water off at 3:05 a.m. and said the main would be restored by 2 p.m.
