Boyle Heights Strip Mall Fire Destroys 4 Businesses

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Crews Friday investigated the cause of a fire that destroyed four businesses in Boyle Heights.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire erupted shortly before 2 a.m. in the 2100 block of East Whittier Boulevard at Boyle Avenue.

Upon their arrival, firefighters located flames burning within a single-story commercial strip mall.

About 75 firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze within an hour.

No injuries were reported.

A Domino's Restaurant, a laundromat and two other unoccupied business were subsequently destroyed by the fire.

Firefighters said the building is considered unsafe to enter, which will delay arson investigators to determine the cause of the blaze.
