Boy, 9, Drowns In Hacienda Heights Pool

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA)  -- A 9-year-boy was declared dead after drowning at a pool in Hacienda Heights, authorities said.

A distress call came in just before 8 p.m. from the 32oo  block of Leticia Drive, officials said.

The LA Sheriff's Department and LA County Fire Department responded to the scene to find a child unresponsive and not breathing.

It was unclear how the boy drowned.

The LASD is investigating the incident but foul play is not suspected.
