Boy, 3, Found Wandering South LA Street

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 3-year-old boy was in the custody of the Department of Child and Family Services Thursday after he was found wandering the streets of South LA.

The child was found around 11 p.m. Wednesday near a taco truck, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

"Officers were flagged down by a citizen reporting they had found an approximately 3-year-old male child wandering the area of Compton and Imperial Highway," said Sgt. Todd Barons.

The child, who told officers his name was Trayson, was taken back to LAPD's Southeast Station where authorities tried unsuccessfully to contact his parents.

DCFS was later able to contact the parents based on the child's previous history of wandering away.

No arrests have been made, however the incident was under investigation by both agencies.
