Bon Appetit Names 2 New LA-Based Restaurants Among America's Best

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Bon Appetit, a culinary magazine, just announced the top ten new restaurants in the country and two of them are in Los Angeles.

The publication says Gjusta in Venice and Petit Trois in Hollywood are among the best 10 new restaurants in the U.S. this year.

"We're certainly very excited and quite proud to make that list and to be No. 2 in particular," said Fran Camaj, the co-owner of Gjusta. The bakery offers baklava, croissants, butter-coated pastries and patrons gladly take a number.

"I just had the prime rib sandwich and I could eat it every single day of the week," John Zelasko, a patron, said.

Making the list at No. 3 was Petit Trois located in a strip mall in Hollywood. The man behind the menu there is Celebrity Chef Ludo, who has appeared on the Food Network.

"A lot of the top restaurants are places where people just feel comfortable and don't have to think too much about," Douglas Rankin said.

Among items on its menu, Petit Trois serves up a burger made of prime beef, which has been called the "best in LA." The onion soup is another favorite.
