Body Found Buried At Fontana Home; Man Arrested

UPDATE 12:10 p.m. Police now say a body found a Fontana home has not yet been positively identified.

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — The body of a Southland woman who went missing on New Year's Eve has been found in a Fontana home, authorities said Friday.

Detectives investigating the disappearance of San Diego resident Alejandra Carrion Gutierrez uncovered information that led them to a residence along the 8200 block of Reseda Avenue, according to the Fontana Police Department's Martha Guzman-Hurtado.

A search warrant was served at the home of 40-year-old Cesar Rosales, where investigators assisted by a cadaver dog discovered the 27-year-old Gutierrez's body found buried on the property, Guzman-Hurtado said.

Rosales knew the victim, although the nature of their relationship is still part of the investigation, according to investigators.

"During the interview, Rosales admitted to the homicide and burying the body in his yard," Guzman-Hurtado said.

Rosales was booked for homicide at the West Valley Detention Center.

Family members reported Gutierrez missing on Dec. 31. Her vehicle was later found in Fontana near the Rialto city border on Jan. 10, police said.
