Man's body found in parking lot of Corona church

An investigation is underway Thursday after a man was found dead in the parking lot of a church in Corona.

The body with signs of trauma was discovered at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, 815 S. Sherman Ave. in Corona, according to police.

The man was described as being in his late 30s, and his identity is being withheld until the Riverside County Coroner's Office notifies his family.

The investigation into the death continues, and police say there doesn't appear to be an active threat to public safety.
