Decapitated Body Discovered Near Riverbed In Irwindale

IRWINDALE (CBSLA.com) — A decapitated body was discovered Thursday near a riverbed in Irwindale.

The victim, described to be a man in his twenties, was found around 5:25 p.m. in the wash south of Foothill Boulevard and west of Irwindale Avenue.

Sheriff's homicide investigators are working with Irwindale police on the case.

The coroner is on the scene.

Investigators said Friday that animal activity was "most likely" the cause of the separation of the skull from the skeletal remains.
