BMW Announces Recall Of 156K Vehicles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Just days after Toyota announced it's recalling more than six million vehicles, BMW says there may be problems with 156,000 sedans and SUVs in the United States.

However, nearly 500,000 vehicles are part of the recall worldwide.

The problem is a loose bolt that holds the variable camshaft timing unit housing, which can trigger the "Check Engine" light on the dashboard.

The affected vehicles are model years 2010 through 2012.

To find out if your vehicle is affected, visit BMW and enter the last seven digits of your VIN.
