Blizzard Forces LAX To Cancel 106 Eastbound Flights

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Northeast blizzard led to more than 100 flight cancellations Tuesday at the Los Angeles International Airport.

As of 8 a.m., airlines had canceled 55 arrivals and 51 departures, LAX officials said.

"We'll just get a rental car. We'll get a car , fly to wherever airport we have too and drive to our destination," said Pennsylvania resident Eugene Jenkins.

Travelers were urged to contact their airline for more flight information.

Airlines say it will take several days to get flights and schedules back to normal.

"There's  fewer planes and there's a lot of people packed into those planes, so recovery is actually going to take longer," airport spokeswoman Mary Grady said.

LAX canceled 87 eastbound flights on Monday due to the storm.
