Billboard Says 'Blackstar' Album By Late David Bowie Tops 200 Chart

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The late David Bowie's album "Blackstar" has reportedly topped the Billboard 200 Chart.

Billboard.com reports that the album debuted at No. 1 on the chart after successful sales during the week ending on Jan. 14.

The website says the chart reflecting Bowie at No. 1 will be posted online Jan. 20.

The legendary singer died at the age of 69 Jan. 10 after reportedly battling cancer for 18 months. He is survived by his two children.

"Blackstar" was released two days before Bowie's death and on his 69th birthday.

During his lifetime, Bowie wasn't afraid to set new limits. He excelled in pop, hard rock, dance pop, punk and metal and was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1996.
