Mother Of Robbery Suspect Returns Bike Stolen From 11-Year-Old Boy

WATTS (CBSLA.com) The mother of a robbery suspect recently returned a bike that was stolen from an 11-year-old boy at a Halloween celebration in a Watts park.

The boy, who goes by Jesse, said he was devastated when his new bike was stolen out of his hands by a man at Ted Watkins Park on Halloween. He had won the bike just minutes earlier in a raffle.

Jesse and his mother gave authorities a description of the suspect and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department last week asked for the public's help in identifying the man.

After the photo of the suspect, Gabriel Estrada, 26, was made public, the suspect's mother returned the bike to the Sheriff's Department on Sunday.

Jesse and his mother were moved by the gesture.

"I'm just choked up," Jesse's mother, Eva, said.

Detectives said they expect to make an arrest in the case soon.
