Big Rig Crashes Into Fire Truck Responding To Freeway Accident

GORMAN (CBSLA.com) — L.A. County Fire was responding to a rollover crash Tuesday evening on the southbound 5 freeway in Gorman when a big rig crashed into a fire truck. Three firefighters were injured during the rush hour accident.

Two children were hurt in the vehicle crash when it rolled over at about 6:10 p.m. near Quail Lake Road. The children were taken by helicopter to the hospital.

Traffic was severely backed up as two lanes were closed.

The extent of the injuries of the firefighters was not immediately known.
