Big Rig Crash Snarling Traffic On 210 Freeway For Soccer Fans Headed To Rose Bowl

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A SigAlert was issued for the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena, for a big rig crash blocking several lanes, snarling traffic for thousands of fans expected at the Rose Bowl for the match between the L.A. Galaxy and FC Barcelona.

The jackknifed big rig was reported at about 12:40 p.m., east of Lake Avenue, briefly blocking all lanes.

The California Highway Patrol reported minor injuries.

The three left lanes and the carpool lane were cleared by 6 p.m.

Pasadena city officials said people planning to attend the highly-anticipated soccer match at the Rose Bowl should plan to get to the stadium by 5 p.m. Last year, fans ended up missing some of the game because they left too late and hit terrible traffic.

The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and is expected to draw 90,000 fans.
