Big Rig Crash In Anaheim Leaves Cab Hanging Over Guardrail

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A jackknifed big rig hanging over a guardrail prompted a SigAlert Tuesday afternoon for the transition road from the Riverside (91) Freeway to the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway.

The crash happened at about 3 p.m. when a black Nissan Sentra driving west on the westbound 91 transition road to the southbound 55 Freeway was struck by the truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision over the Fastrak Connector between the northbound 55 to the eastbound 91 left the truck's damaged cab hanging over the guardrail, with fuel leaking onto the roadway below.

A SigAlert was issued at 3:10 p.m. and will be in effect until further notice. The northbound 55 to eastbound 91 and westbound 91 to southbound 55 Fastrak connector roads, along with two lanes on the 91 Freeway, were also closed during the investigation and cleanup.
