Big Rig Overturns, Spills Diesel Fuel Onto 5 Freeway In Atwater Village

ATWATER VILLAGE (CBSLA.com) — Crews Wednesday worked to clean up diesel fuel on the 5 Freeway Wednesday after an overturned big rig crashed in Atwater Village.

The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Los Feliz Boulevard, according to police.

The tank of the truck, which was carrying a 1,700-gallon diesel fuel load, was punctured and leaked diesel fuel on the freeway.

No injuries were reported.

All lanes of the freeway were closed at Los Feliz Boulevard until further notice.

CBS2's Stephanie Simmons reported traffic is being diverted at Glendale Boulevard.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
