Bicyclist Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Stanton

STANTON (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed Tuesday morning by a hit-and-run driver in west Orange County.

The bicyclist was struck on Beach Boulevard south of Cerritos Avenue in Stanton, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded at 4:43 a.m. and found him lying dead in the roadway.

The man appears to have been riding out of an alleyway when he fell from his bicycle onto Beach Blvd. and was run over by a vehicle, the OCSD reports.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a dark-colored SUV slow down for a bit and then speed away towards Katella Avenue.

Deputies closed off southbound lanes of Beach Blvd. as they investigate the crash.
