Previews begin this week for "Chavez Ravine: An L.A. Revival," directed by Lisa Peterson who was also at the helm during the play's world premiere in 2003 at the Mark Taper Forum. The highly anticipated return features energized material and music from the Rodarte Brothers and Culture Clash, in this urban exploration of the constantly changing landscape of Los Angeles. With an official open date of February 4, the performances run through March 1st at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Culver City.

The Fountain Theatre launches its 25th Anniversary with the Los Angeles premiere of "Reborning" by Zayd Dohrn. This darkly funny psychological thriller follows a young artist as she tries to unravel the mystery behind her abandonment at birth. The Los Angeles Master Chorale, in collaboration with the Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra and the Los Angeles Children's Chorus will present two performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion this weekend at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. With 13 soloists, including Pablo Corá, Tenor; Janelle DeStefano, Mezzo Soprano; and Arnold Livingston Geis, Tenor, this anticipated collaboration will present the historically informed performances under the direction of Grant Gershon. Written nearly 300 years ago, Bach's musical interpretation of the biblical Passion is one of his most inspirational pieces.
