Bernie Sanders Roots For Warriors In Game 7: 'I Like Comebacks'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders attended Game 7 of the Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder series in Oakland Monday night, drawing a parallel between his underdog candidacy and the Warriors' come-from-behind series win.

"Last week, Golden State was down three games to one. Tonight, they finished off a great comeback in California," Sanders posted on Twitter. "I like comebacks."

Sanders went to the came with actor Danny Glover, a longtime Bay Area resident and Warrior fan, CBS News reported. They sat under the Warriors' basket. When they arrived, chants of "Bernie, Bernie" broke out at Oracle Arena and people crowded Sanders to take selfies.

The Warriors the game 96-88 and will advance to the NBA Finals, where they will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Sanders has been crossing the state campaigning as polls show the California primary could be a close contest on June 7, although rival Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton holds a nearly insurmountable delegate lead.

Earlier Monday, he held a large rally in Oakland that was disrupted by a group of animal rights protesters hoping to draw attention to their cause.
