Beating, Kidnapping Victim Found By Police In Yorba Linda, Several Suspects Arrested

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — A man who was beaten and kidnapped was recovering at a local hospital Friday after being found by authorities.

Police received a call shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday about an assault in the 1100 block of E. Imperial Highway in Placentia.

"A witness observed a male adult being beaten by at least three male adults," Lt. Eric Point of the Placentia Police Department said. "At the conclusion of beating the victim, the suspects dragged the victim into a car, where they fled the scene."

A multi-agency investigation spanning Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties was launched, and the 49-year-old victim was located Thursday at a residence in Yorba Linda.

The Irvine resident "sustained several fractures and contusions from his assailants. He was transported to an undisclosed area hospital, where he remains in serious condition and is expected to survive," Lt. Point said.

Placentia detectives arrested multiple suspects in connection to the crime.

"The investigation is ongoing and due to the sensitive nature of the case and the safety of the victim, the names of the suspects and locations are not being released at this time," he added.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Placentia detectives at (714)993-8146.
