Ball Boys Keep It Rolling With Big Playoff Victory
CHINO HILLS (CBSLA.com) — They've been Ballers since before they were born.
Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, senior, junior and freshman brothers at Chino Hills High School, all start on the varsity basketball team.
"These boys have been together ever since birth, and they've been great ever since that time; they've done a great job," said Phil Garcia , athletic director at the school.
The CIF semifinal Friday pitted No. 1 Chino Hills against No. 4 Mater Dei with a sold-out crowd looking forward to the matchup of the season, and only a few seconds into game, the crowd was already going crazy with Chino Hills leading big from the beginning.
The UCLA-bound brothers, numbers 1, 2 and 3 are the powerhouse that led the team to victory.
"Just chemistry, you know, we don't really focus on that we just go out and play and go from there," Lonzo said.
"Just a great experience. I've been playing with them my whole life, and it's just a dream come true," LaMelo said.
"Like melo said, it's a great experience, and I know their game, and we all know how each other plays, so it just makes the game easier and more fun," LiAngelo said.
Their dad LaVar Ball says he's been proud of them since the day they were born.
"They've all got that killer attitude in them," Ball said. "They all stay in the same house coming from the same cloth, so therefore they're going to have the same mindset, which is to win. ... That's what we're going to do, win."
And win they did, with a final score of 102-54.
Chino Hills will continue in the playoffs next week.
