Man Killed, Teen Wounded In Baldwin Park Shooting

BALDWIN PARK (CBSLA) — A man was killed and a teenage boy wounded after shots rang out at a gathering at a Baldwin Park home.

The shooting was just before 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 15000 block of Olive Street, where officers found a man in his 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

German Gonzalez said the man who was killed was his 20-year-old brother, Cristian. Gonzalez said his brother had been a hard worker who had never been in any trouble.

"He doesn't even know why he was here, or what he would be doing that late out here," Gonzalez said through a translator.

Cristian and friends had been standing outside the home when someone in a car pulled up and started shooting. A 15-year-old boy was also hit in the gunfire in the upper body and rushed to a hospital. He has since been treated and released.

Investigators say they have no leads on the identities of the suspects, and have not yet determined how many people were in the car, or even what may have triggered the shooting.
