Second Bald Eagle Egg Hatches After First Chick Revealed In Big Bear

BIG BEAR LAKE (CBSLA) — It's a chick! The second egg laid by a bald eagle in Big Bear hatched Monday morning as the world watched on YouTube.

Viewers of the live YouTube stream got a glimpse of the new hatchling just before 10 a.m. Monday, one day after seeing the first chick and its gray fuzz.

Friends Of Big Bear Valley's webcam continued to stream Monday morning on a bald eagle keeping both chicks warm in Big Bear's freezing temperatures.

One of the two eggs started hatching Saturday night, and online watchers got a glimpse of the gray chick and what the Friends of Big Bear Valley and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam called its "bobblehead action."
